One of the great references of Portuguese theatre and cinema, Lídia Franco’s career spans more than five decades. Trained at the National Conservatory, she worked with directors such as Luís Miguel Cintra, Jorge Silva Melo, Carlos Avilez and João Lourenço, integrating companies like Teatro da Cornucópia and Teatro Nacional D. Maria II. In cinema, she collaborated with João Botelho (Conversa Acabada, Os Maias), Manoel de Oliveira (Non), João Canijo (Ganhar a Vida) and Raquel Freire (Rasganço). Her career also includes international projects such as La Reine Morte. On television, she featured in Médico de Família, A Jóia de África, Belmonte and Paixão. Recognised for the intensity of her performances, she has received distinctions including the Portuguese Theatre Critics Award and the Golden Globe for Best Theatre Actress.
