
BIO
Graduated from the National Dance Conservatory, Romeu Runa was a member of Ballet Gulbenkian for nine years, working with choreographers such as Jirí Kylián, Ohad Naharin, Olga Roriz, Clara Andermatt and Marie Chouinard. On stage, he collaborated with creators including Alain Platel, Marco Martins, Beatriz Batarda, Angélica Liddell, Miguel Moreira and Rui Horta, performing at venues such as Théâtre de la Ville de Paris, Festival d’Avignon and Teatro Nacional D. Maria II. In film, he appeared in The Colony by Marco Martins, Desgarrada by Flávio Ferreira, Banzo by Margarida Cardoso, Great Yarmouth: Provisional Figures by Marco Martins — a performance that earned him the Sophia Award for Best Supporting Actor — Tristeza e Alegria na Vida das Girafas by Tiago Guedes, Axilas by José Fonseca e Costa and Noites Claras by Paulo Filipe Monteiro. On television, his credits include A Espia (RTP), Lusitânia (RTP), Sul (RTP) and Sara (RTP). He has also developed solo performance projects with Berlinde de Bruyckere, presented in London, New York and Ghent.
