Born in 1976, João Araújo trained as an actor in Portugal, developing a career in theatre, cinema, television and voice work. On stage, he performed in Ricardo II, Rei Lear, O Príncipezinho, Abril Futebol Clube, O Auto da Barca do Inferno, Sonho de Uma Noite de Verão and Comédia de Desenganos, collaborating with directors such as Antonio Pires and Carlos Avilez. In cinema, he appeared in 20,13 by Joaquim Leitão, Os Maias: Cenas da Vida Romântica and Um Filme em Forma de Assim by João Botelho, as well as Peregrinação. On television, he featured in Diário de Maria, Uma Aventura, Deixa-me Amar, Filhos do Rock, Sol de Inverno, Poderosas, A Única Mulher, Coração d’Ouro, O Sábio, Vidas Opostas, Alma e Coração, A Prisioneira, Pecado, Esperança, Papel Principal and O Americano. He has also worked extensively in dubbing, voicing characters in SpongeBob SquarePants, Transformers Prime, Ratchet & Clank and O Principezinho.
