
BIO
Francisco Froes furthered his acting training in Los Angeles and New York, at the Neighborhood Playhouse and The Imagined Life Studio, among others. He made his film debut in Deste Lado da Ressurreição by Joaquim Sapinho, and later appeared in films such as Parque Mayer by António-Pedro Vasconcelos, which earned him the Best Actor Award from SPA Authors and the Nico Award from the Portuguese Film Academy, as well as nominations for both the Sophia Award and the Portuguese Golden Globe for Best Actor. He stars in Lavagante by Mário Barroso, the final screenplay by António-Pedro Vasconcelos, adapted from the last novel by José Cardoso Pires. He was also part of the cast of Solum by Diogo Morgado, Cândidoby Jorge Paixão da Costa, and Hotel Amor by Hermano Moreira. On television, he has appeared in A Travessia, Flor Sem Tempo, Abandonados”, “Contado por Mulheres”, “Três Mulheres”, among others. In 2024, he wrote and directed the short film Silence, presented at the Tribeca Lisboa Festival. He divides his career between Portugal and the United States, working in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
