BIO

Born in Mozambique on March 1, 1960, Carlos Sebastião began his artistic journey with opera singing lessons at the National Theatre of São Carlos. He made his professional debut in 1987 at Teatro Experimental de Cascais in Molière’s Tartuffe, later joining the Companhia de Teatro de Almada and Teatro A Barraca. In 2000, he founded Teatro Mínimo and later Lerarte, a company dedicated to children’s theatre.
In cinema, he has worked with renowned directors such as Filipe Rocha in Your Face Will Be the Last, Jorge Paixão da Costa in Cândido and Maluda, Fernando Vendrell in The 3 Women, Zezé Gamboa in The Great Kilapy, Joaquim Leitão in Until Tomorrow, Comrades, among others.
On television, he has appeared in numerous notable productions including series, soap operas, and TV movies such as Faro, directed by João Seabra; The Spy and The Chronicle of the Good Rogues, directed by Jorge Paixão da Costa; The Crime of Father Amaro, directed by Leonel Vieira; Terra Nova, directed by Joaquim Leitão; and the Netflix series Glória, directed by Tiago Guedes.
In 2017, he won the Best Performance Award at the ShortCutz Guimarães festival for his role in the short film Marasmo, directed by Gonçalo Loureiro
